Row upon row, of lamps will I light, Cooling draughts will I offer them, with love and delight! Sitting face to face with them, would indeed be a blessing, And again and again would I wash their feet! With loving garlands, will I adorn them, And on the guitar of my love, will I sing to them! In the temple of the Lord, will I seat them, And with strands of pearls will I adorn their feet! Ardent love, will I kindle in my eyes, And of my lovelorn plight, I will apprise them! Pray grant me but this favour, says Nuri Nimani, Procure for me, but a bit of the dust of the door of the saints! ☼
