Father's day celebrations in Panama

19th of June was a beautiful spring day that marked Father's Day on the calendar. For this special day, both the Panama and Colon Sadhu Vaswani Centers decided to celebrate this joyous occasion together by organizing a shewa cum picnic at cero azul.

What a lovely start of on this day it was for the fathers to be woken up with warm hugs, kisses and gifts from their loving children. Individually we all prayed to the benevolent Lord to keep our fathers and our Divine Father Pujnia Dada always healthy and full of life. What gift can we give our Beloved Dada on Father's Day ? Oh yes we thought, Dada would surely cherish the gift of service to the poor and needy.

So basic necessities such as clothings, toiletries, juices, and groceries were bought, and also delicious home made food were gifted to the poor fathers on the streets. Thank you Dada for inspiring us to start this special day with Shewa.

After driving for over 45 minutes our caravan of over 10 cars and a bus reached a small town where the shewa program took place, and then we reached Gir Darshan which is a beautiful 3 storied weekend bunglow of Mr and Mrs Peter Chatlani. On one of his earlier trips to Panama, Dadaji blessed this cozy home with the name Gir Darshan because of its breath taking hill view. On reaching Gir Darshan we all settled down for a hour of Satsang. The family that prays together stays together, so too our Dada family (as we like to call ourselves) got immersed in the holy and harmonious vibrations of melodious bhajans and kirtan, followed by Nuri Vachan and a pre recorded Dada Jashan's Ruh Rihan (spiritual talk).

Arti concluded the Satsang. A huge cake was brought in and this was cut by all the grandfathers, fathers and to be fathers. With the singing of Badhayi ho Badhayi!! Amongst these fathers and grandfathers there was a Mr Deepak Budhrani who was the youngest father of a month old baby. Wow what a happy and joyous atmosphere it was for all, another cake was brought in for the anniversary couple Mr and Mrs Alex Sachanandani, this was followed by a feast of huge variety of food for all those present there.

A very exciting and fun game of making a garland of popcorn was organized for the grandfathers, fathers, and to-be-fathers. This was followed by games such as passing the parcel, Bingo, and Antakshri. Many displayed their hidden talents of singing, jokes and mimicry.

Just as all good things have to come to an end so too this joyous fathers day had to come to a close. We all went back to our homes with our hearts filled with love and happiness. How fortunate we are to have our lives touched by the magic of our beloved Dada's simple and all encompassing love!!! Thank you dearest divine Dada for filling our lives with love. We love you Dada!!
